Q - I want to take my bike test and get a full motorcycle licence - What do I need to do?

A - Firstly You will need a UK Provisional/full car licence with motorcycle entitlement Prov. Cat A.  Then a C.B.T training day and Theory test followed by several days on-road training with a practical test at the end


Q - How old do I need to be to do Direct Access?

A - Over 21years old


Q - Do I have to book my own theory test?

A - No we can offer you various dates if you would like


Q - How long does the theory test take?

A - Approx 45 minuites


Q - If there any literature I can buy to help me pass my theory test?

A - Yes, we recommend the Official theory test for motorcyclists or a CD rom which you may purchase at any large bookstore


Q - Do I need to pass the theory if I have a full car licence?

A - Yes


Q - Can I carry passengers as a learner?

A - No (If you passed your car test before Feb-2001 you may ride a 49cc moped without L Plates and take a passenger)


Q - Can I go on Motorways as a learner?

A - No


Q - Do I need L-Plates?

A - Yes Front and rear


Q - What time do the courses start?

A - Direct Access courses and Standard A training courses start at 9.45am and finish between 3.30 and 4pm

Q - Do I need a theory test to do a C.B.T?

A - No


Q - Do I need to re-new my C.B.T before my bike training?

A - Yes if it has expired


Q - I have a full car licence, do I need a C.B.T?

A - You may only ride a 49cc moped if you passed you car test before February 2001.  Anything bigger requires a C.B.T


Q - How old do I need to be to do my C.B.T?

A - 16 years old


Q - Do I need to do another C.B.T to ride a 125cc when I am 17 years old?

A - No


Q - If I do my C.B.T on an automatic, can I ride a geared bike?

A - Yes, C.B.T is a blanket cover - It will cover a rider for all types of moped/bike up to 125cc.


Q - Can I fail a C.B.T?

A - As C.B.T is not a test or exam, you cannot fail, however if you do not reach the required standard then you will have to re-book and train again


Q - How long will my C.B.T last?

A - 2 years


Q - How long does C.B.T take?

A - We start at 8.30 and finish around 4-5pm
